Went out to see The Poozies (original lineup) at Stamford Arts Centre.
We ran into Chris (Minstrel) whilst there, and I hope he didn't take it askance when we eschewed the seats next to him in order to sit RIGHT AT THE FRONT so I could see Patsy and Mary's fingers.
Oh. My. Lord.
And that isn't blasphemy from me - it's me praying for the ability to be able to get to something approximating this standard before I'm 90.
The vocal harmonies were so tight that you couldn't hear one line over another, and the harp lines were ... astonishing. I've heard them on CD, but one always expects a certain amount of multi-tracking from a studio album. I was proved very wrong when they launched into "We Built Fires" as their first number and replicated the sound live.
Incredible.
I'm torn between wanting to practise until my fingers bleed, or simply sell my harp as I'll never be any good. I'm probably veering towards the first, though!
