A rather nice freebie...
Jan. 29th, 2007 02:05 pmFor those of you who are trying to reduce the number of carrier bags you use, I found a very nice freebie today.
I bank with HSBC, who currently have a "Green Sale" on - how a bank can have a sale is beyond me, let alone a *green* sale, but still.
As part of the promotion, there were piles of reuseable hessian carrier bags to be picked up for free, stamped with the "Green Sale" blurb, but still nice hessian bags which were perfect for Ellie's library books, and didn't drag on the floor when carried with an extended arm (which the Tesco and Lidl ones that I have do). It is also lined with thin plastic of some kind, which makes it waterproof.
I suspect that the "sale" is almost at an end, so they were desperately trying to unload these things, branches local to other Chlorofilkers may be doing the same. If you happen to be walking past a branch of HSBC and need a hemp/hessian bag, then stick your head in!
