Hey guys - if you happen to be watching tv tonight, or can spare a phone call, check out "Restoration Village" tonight on the BBC.

It features All Saints' Church at Beckingham, which is a parish church in our group parish, just up the road from here. It's been abandoned for years and years, and the parishioners have had to resort to worshipping in the village hall and people's front rooms for a long time now. If we won "Restoration Village", we would be really chuffed to have (a) saved a gorgeous building from ruination and (b) have a centre of worship again.

Everyone in the parish has been behind the restoration 101% - Tim and I have played there to raise funds, and our lovely vicar, Alan, has held a vigil there - everyone in the group of parishes lined the church with hundreds and hundreds of candles in red holders - the church *glowed* like magic all night. But there is a limit to how deep local people can reach in their own pockets, and we could really do with a bit of help...

Argh!!!

There's no way I'm going to be flying unless I can take a frodding book with me. I'm a kender by nature - I don't cope well with boredom. Honestly, I think that a bored Jared, Annie and Ellie let loose on a plane would be more of a security risk than any maddened terrorist. The three of us would be chewing our way out of the fuselage in under an hour...

However, in happy news, I have now got my Ashford Traditional spinning wheel back into working order, courtesy of Bill and Sue Chitty at:

I'm now looking forwards to spinning the Alpaca fleece I bought on holiday :-) I was highly amused to be questioned by a member of the public as I was buying it -

"What are you going to do with *that*?" she asked, incredulously.
"I'm going to spin it, and maybe make a soft jumper for my daughter with it."
"Really? You can DO that?"
"Errrr... Yes. That's why I bought it. You should try it - spinning is very relaxing."
"I didn't know anyone could still do that!"
*Annie smiles and wanders away*
