Totoro!

It's amazing the stuff you find when you're blog surfing. Ladies and gentlepods, I present:

A free crochet pattern for a Totoro

Fabulous! I remember Tattercoats sitting Tim, Jared and I down to watch this film, and the feeling of wonder and magic it brought about. Wonderful stuff. Of course, now I can't even *hear* the word "Totoro" without envisioning her son, about 5 or 6 at the time, doing remarkably accurate Totoro impressions in a South-West accent - beyond adorable :-)

Must find (a) some yarn and (b) some free time...

That's beautifully designed though I have to admit I have no clue what a Totoro is, but the designer's done a dragon too, wow! Thanks so much for the link..

It's a Miyazaki film which brings the wonder of childhood and nature beautifully to life.

I adored it upon first viewing, and it has retained a special place in my heart ever since :-)

Aha thankyou.... might try and see this, although I found Spirited Away, though beautiful, extremely perplexing..

Heh! I like that - have you tried googling for knitted dalek patterns?

Hoping your J got home safe after a good first day?!

And there's me just starting to reacquaint myself with crochet.

Brian's comment - 'DON'T let the girls see it!'

I read that as Toronto the first time through.

That would require slightly more yarn, I suspect.

I -love- Totoro. My sister brought back a Totoro hand towel from Japan, and it's hanging in our guest bathroom. I also have a tiny Totoro hanging from my harp, and a small stuffed Totoro in our bedroom. :-)
