I have a long list of gripes with power companies:
  • Automated telephone answering.
  • Call centres in foreign climes (when dealing with english speakers, please employ other english speakers.  Preferably without an accent.)
  • 'Customer Representatives' who won't tell you their names.
  • The difficulty of querying an incorrect bill.
and so forth.  I'm sure that you could add a whole bunch of irritations to that list.  I needed to call our power company for the new house this morning and was astonished when the following happened...
