Convention Renaissance
Mar. 25th, 2008 12:41 pmTim and I used to go to two conventions every year, at least. The British Filkcon and Eastercon. Eastercon was considerably more fun when we didn't have small children to worry about, but after a while, it just gets impossible to enjoy a multi-streamed programme with children whinging and bored around your knees. We gave up Eastercon for many reasons, including being accused of "abandoning" Jared in a room (he was having a nap, and woke up when housekeeping ignored the "Do Not Disturb" sign and he panicked), and one of us having to miss an entire convention because we were chasing him around a hotel lounge and succeeding only in irritating other con-members.
However, after a nice little series of co-incidences, we ended up attending Orbital 2008.
What ENORMOUS AMOUNTS OF FUN!!!
