Frustrated
Nov. 29th, 2007 11:24 amI don't get it. My laptop won't connect to the net. It sees the home network, and admits that it a good strong signal and connects to it just fine. But no dice on the "actually connecting to the net" side of things.
Maybe there's something up with the modem part of the wireless router we have. I restart it. I restart my computer. No dice.
I turn on Tim's laptop to see if it's working OK. And yup, his laptop is just *dandy* (as witnessed by me writing this on it). So why not mine? I could understand it if it couldn't see the network at all, and we'd had an obvious card error or the suchlike.
But it's just my laptop that won't accept there's an internet out there.
GRRRR!!!!
I'm starting to think that perhaps this whole "upgrade your laptop" thing is a bust - I've had nothing but problems since getting a new laptop earlier this year. The first replacement laptop showed me how much I detest Vista, and then the keyboard stopped working. Ack. The second has a functional keyboard, but this "randomly dropping off the internet for no apparent reason" malarkey is getting really OLD!!!!
