They were all right.

When I decided to buy a laptop, it was mostly because of my ongoing problems with colleagues being unable to understand how to send me mac-friendly files. I was warned that as a mac user, I would find Windows difficult to deal with, and XP in particular was a heap of rubbish. Contrary to popular opinion, I loved it. It worked brilliantly for me, and I've carried on being happy with my XP experience right up until the point that the laptop in question became too old to come with what I was asking of it.

So I bought a spiffy new laptop. People said "Beware Vista! It is a steaming pile of poo!", but I ignored them because they had been wrong the first time around.

They weren't wrong this time.

It sucks.

Really badly. As does the build quality of this not-cheap laptop.

It says something that I am now debating wiping the new laptop clean, and taking it back and finally reverting to mac. (I have a very underused G4 desktop).

AAAHHH! I HATE VISTA!!!!
