One more reason to love the Library...
May. 31st, 2007 01:25 pmSo, it's half term. The weather is abysmal and we've got zero money (thanks to my manic laptop buying expedition at the weekend!). The children are climbing the walls. What to do?
The Library!!!
It's warm, it's dry, it's got lots of books and cool stuff, and - more to the point - it isn't home. The children had a whale of a time :-) Jared was beside himself with joy to discover two Darren Shan books that he hadn't read before, and to find out that booktapes/CDs from the children's library are FREE!!! He found a new Diana Wynne Jones on CD and has been plugged in ever since.
Ellie found new Dora the Explorer book, and I've got a whole bunch of stuff (including a "Teach Yourself Piano" primer) as well as my find of the week - "Great British Dinners" by James Martin. It's full of stuff I will actually eat! Mmmmmmm... I may have to stick this book on my Amazon wish list.
On the whole I get rather fed up with my local council on a reasonably regular basis. However, I am jolly glad that I get this service as part of the package. Now, if they could only bite the bullet with actually incentivising recycling...
