As I am a sad, sad Fleetwood Mac fan, I will no longer be referring to this as a Chicken Ark. It is now the Chicken Shed.

It's a bit huge!

It needs a general clean up, a new bit of plywood for the sleeping area floor, some new hinges and a bit of roofing felt along the top.

It cost £26.

Even after hiring a trailer to fetch it, and the petrol involved, we reckon it cost something in the region of £100. Not too shabby, methinks!

Free time this week will involve cleaning it up, fixing it and getting it ready for it's new inhabitants. Now I need to research where to get some chickens!

OK, it's still a bit too hot to be doing much outside except falling over and going "Uuuuuuurrrrrrrgjgjghghghgh" in the children's paddling pool, so I'm sat inside, trying to research where one should buy chickens in Lincolnshire. Disturbingly, I'm coming up with "Padley's" a lot, which is a pie factory down the road.

Maybe not.

However, I did find the *coolest* blog for a long time:

http://blog.amystewart.com/

She's a radical gardener and chickeny person, who has this to say:

"We are flabbergasted at the idea of "no maintenance" gardens. If I have to read one more magazine article about Easy Container Gardens in 10 Minutes or Less, I may actually go bury MYSELF in the perennial border. Gardening is something you DO. It's not something you buy and arrange around the exterior of your home in between fluffing the aforementioned throw pillows."

Heh :-) I like how this lady thinks...
