The Quest for Fabric...
Apr. 6th, 2006 10:17 amI know I have some linen somewhere. I vividly remember buying it. A lot of it in fact. I've moved house since then, into somewhere with no useful place to put all the fabric together, so I have fabric all over the place - I'v got wool behind the sofa, more wool in the wardrobe, cotton velvet in the garage and linen in... err... ummm... Not sure on the linen. Which is a bit of an arse as I was planning on making myself that chemise I discussed yesterday. It's *possibly* in my linenfold sewing box - but that is currently buried under mounds of my brother-in-law's stuff, and is unlikely to be excavated until tomorrow at the earliest.
Pleh.
Until then I shall debate what I should do with the length of rather stiff coat-weight wool I bought in a moment of madness a couple of years back. I don't know why I bought it. It's not even an appealing colour - poo-brown. Maybe it was cheap...
Having spoken to Tim, he is going to open negotiations on possibly asking my wonderful in-laws if they'd look after the kidlets for Tewkesbury. This would mean (a) lots of wandering around the market, window-shopping, (b) get to see Schelmisch in the beer tent (BIG PIPES!!!) and (c)lots of music and crafting, instead of the "squish it in whilst the kids are napping..." which is what usually happens. Possibly even room in the tent to lodge a
bardling if she wanted to come along. Well, actually, there's room for that, even if the kids do come along. No shortage of room in our new tent!
I'm not holding my breath, but it would be *lovely* if we do an event as independent adults for a change. I hear it can be quite fun!
