That seaside port called Canadeeeio....
Feb. 1st, 2006 11:13 pmWe have been Canadianed! My house is full of talented Canadians singing, playing, hugging and eating. It's rather fabulous. There is no better way to do a boring and repetitive task than by listening to Sam, Susan and Dave rehearsing. Of course, I did, at one point, think I had hallucinated a drum in there, but no.... Tim was doing his usual music tart thing, and was playing with them. As they were rehearsing for their sets, it seems as though Tim has wangled himself into the band :-) Sam said that the set couldn't be billed as "Sam Baardman" anymore as there were now all these *extra* people! I suggested they all changed their names to "Sam Baardman", but he wasn't totally convinced, and a whole, "I am Spartacus! No, *I* am Spartacus!" thing started riffing around... It all got quite silly, frankly :-) They are really nice people, and it is lovely to have them here.
I made sausage and mash for supper, which everyone seemed delighted by - mostly because it was so *english*! It was quite difficult with Sam stealing all the carrots as I cut them :-)
Only downer on the day is the fact that the badge machine seems to be spoiling as many badges as it is making. This is happening to both Bill and I, so it's not one technique over another. We're getting incredibly frustrated with it, and I'm worrying about the number of badge blanks we have left. Anyone with any experience of this machine? We are constantly getting uneven amounts of plastic covering being pushed down, which results in not all the plastic being gathered into the finished badge and open bits and ..... grrrr!!!! We are following the instructions to the letter, but still losing 1 out of every 2 badges.
How come I'm stressing over this badge machine? I'M NOT ON THE COMMITTEE!!!
Sutton has taken everyone off to the pub, leaving me on my own with the fragging badge machine. Bleah.
Still - Canadians in my house!!! Wheee!!! Sam Baardman singing in my living room! Cool!
