I was endlessly amused to get an email from a good friend about my Rabbithole posting. "Grim", was pretty much the judgement.

I laughed a little, as it was a funny post (complete with shocked smiley - like this :-0 ) and then reread the posting to see how right the friend was.

I suspect I may be walking at right-angles to the rest of humanity here, as I actually thought it was quite an upbeat posting! OK, it's set after a Nuclear War, but the war didn't affect us here in the UK - (apart from killing our chickens and cutting down on strawberry production). We're not dying from fallout (one of the nastier ways to snuff it, I can tell you), and apart from some large scale loss of life in rioting (entirely predictable in cases of global political change) we're just getting along with things in a different manner.

But then, this is from the woman who collected pictures of dead people to use in "Call of Cthulhu" games, can tell you ranged survival rates for 1990s nuclear weapons (I lost track when I left the industry in 1995 or so) and thinks that "The Last Samurai" has a happy ending.

Maybe I'm just odd.

And that thought makes me happy :-)

As has been made patently clear to me, my writing sucks and it disturbs people. I shall not be posting anymore prose or fiction to this Livejournal. Silly me for trying to be be creative. You don't really need to worry about me posting songs as I haven't written anything worth singing for years anyway.

I resume my usual service of light-hearted anecdotes about my children.

I apologise.

Apparently at Jared's school (which is a Church school, so no religious rants, please) they have started to sing grace instead of saying the normal "For what we are about to receive..." prayer.

Fair enough, I thought.

Then he sang me the grace they've been taught.

It was to the tune of "The Addams Family".

I'm not kidding. With clicked fingers and everything.

THIS IS NOT A RABBITHOLE.

I'm gobsmacked. Why wasn't prayer this cool when I was little?

I appear to have evolved into a Drama Queen. Eek! Sorry.

Please ignore any further incidents of me running out into the sun, shouting, "ME! ME! IT'S ALL ABOUT ME, I TELL YOU!!!!" and "SEE HOW I HATE MYSELF! TELL ME HOW WONDERFUL I AM OR I SHALL SWALLOW LARGE AMOUNTS OF MULTIVITAMINS!!!"

I promise I'll carry on writing. Even if it's a bit pants (which, frankly, it often will be). I may, or may not post bits and pieces here. And in 18 months, when Ellie is at school fulltime, and the new house is built (hohohohohhoho!) I'll have a real honest-to-goodness office with space for MEMEMEME!!!! Maybe I'll have a go at writing on a slightly more regular basis. Even if it isn't published, it'll be stepping in the right direction, and I've always been a big fan of moving towards dreams, however slowly.

There's still time for my 27 volume Thomas Covenant follow-on!!! *cough*

Anyway, over the Drama Queen thing. Bleh. Sorry. :-/
