Couldn't afford Mich's CD at the convention, which was a source of sadness to me.
Rika gave me a copy on Saturday. The weekend was crazy mad, so didn't get a chance to listen until this morning when Ellie is at the ChildMinder's house.
It's broken a record for me. I've never managed to break into tears before the first minute of a CD has played. It's just sosososososo beautiful...
The writing, playing, singing, arrangement, engineering and artwork are all in a league of their own.
If there is anyone who doesn't have "Just Beyond" by Mich Sampson, I am telling you to get it NOW. I'm not fully through it yet, and I can tell you that it's blowing away anything else in my record collection - Sarah Mclachlan, Loreena McKennitt, Tori Amos - the lot of them. This isn't something to be held up as a good filk album. It's something to be held up as a superb professional album.
